Cookie Policy

How Matstiming uses cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technology - explained in plain language for drivers who'd rather be on the road than reading legal text.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your phone, tablet, or laptop when you visit a website. They let the site remember things like your login session, your dark-mode setting, or which truck stop city you last browsed. Matstiming uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage, SDK identifiers) for four main reasons: keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, measuring site performance, and showing relevant advertising off-site.

This policy covers what we drop on your device, who else might do the same, and exactly how you can switch any of it off. It works alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

The Four Categories

Types of Cookies We Use

Some cookies are essential for the site to function. Others are optional and you can turn them off at any time from your account settings or your browser.

Essential Cookies

Required for sign-in, profile security, fraud prevention, and basic site navigation. These cannot be disabled because the platform will not work without them.

Functional Cookies

Remember your preferences - dark mode, language, last viewed state or city hub, and route filters. Improves your experience but not required.

Analytics Cookies

Help us understand how members use Matstiming so we can fix bugs and improve route matching. Aggregated and anonymized - never tied to your name.

Advertising Cookies

Used by us and partners to show Matstiming ads on other sites and measure their performance. You can opt out from your account preferences.

Analytics and Performance Cookies

We use analytics tools to measure traffic, identify broken pages, and understand which features (like Route Matching or Shift Chat Mode) members actually use. The data is aggregated - we see "3,200 drivers viewed Texas profiles this week," not "Mike from Amarillo did X at 2:14am."

The primary providers we rely on:

  • Google Analytics 4 - page views, session duration, route-card interactions. IP addresses are anonymized.
  • Hotjar - anonymous session replays of randomly sampled visits to spot UX issues. Profile content is masked.
  • Matstiming first-party analytics - performance metrics stored on our own servers (no third-party sharing).

Analytics cookies typically expire between 30 days and 24 months. You can opt out of all third-party analytics from your account preferences without affecting your ability to use the platform.

Advertising and Third-Party Cookies

We work with a small set of advertising partners to reach truck drivers and women interested in trucker dating on platforms where they already spend time - generally Meta, Google, and a couple of niche trucking publications. These partners place cookies or pixels on your device to measure ad performance and avoid showing you the same ad repeatedly.

Current advertising and retargeting partners include:

  • Meta Pixel - measures conversions from Facebook and Instagram ads.
  • Google Ads conversion tag - tracks sign-ups originating from Google Search and YouTube.
  • Microsoft Advertising UET - measures Bing Search conversions.
  • Reddit Pixel - used occasionally for niche trucking subreddit campaigns.

We never sell your personal data to advertisers, and we do not allow partners to use Matstiming cookies for their own marketing purposes. Advertising cookies typically expire after 90 days.

How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences

You're in control. There are three layers of management, and you can use any combination.

  1. Matstiming account settings. Sign in, open Settings → Privacy & Cookies, and toggle off Analytics or Advertising. Essential cookies remain on because the site needs them to keep you logged in.
  2. Browser controls. Every modern browser lets you block, delete, or be warned about cookies. The exact path varies - Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies; Safari: Settings → Privacy; Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security; Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
  3. Industry opt-out tools. For broader control over advertising cookies across the web, use the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (optout.aboutads.info), the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out (optout.networkadvertising.org), or your device's mobile ad ID reset.
Heads up for drivers on the road

If you clear cookies while traveling, you'll be signed out and may need to re-verify your device. Save your login details somewhere safe before wiping browser data at a truck stop Wi-Fi.

Questions About Cookies

This Cookie Policy may be updated as we add or remove tracking technologies. When that happens, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, post a notice inside your account. Continued use of Matstiming after an update means you accept the revised policy.

If anything here isn't clear, or if you'd like a copy of the specific cookies your account currently has set, reach out through our contact page.
